I wouldnt dismiss a certain Mr Gary Speed.

Aidy Boothroyd would be top of my list. Paul Jewell I think is surely odds on favourite to get the job though - which I would have mixed feelings about - I do think he is pretty decent, done well at Bradford and Wigan, he has a pretty sound track record so I would not be unhappy with him.

Like I said on the other post, if we cannot attract a manager who we want, please do not go for some monkey like Souness, Mickey Adams, Hoddle - I would much prefer Gary Speed.

After keeping it a secret, I have now let it out.  There is going to be Joint Managers, Me and Tricky .T.

Found out, that it was the only way that we could get tickets easier for the EUFA Games.

Well it is about as realistic as "AB"  :dude:

It's got to be a dream team of George Oghani and Tony Kelly, surely!

Funny how many fans complained about SA tactics yet want to bring in the clone Boothroyd, just looked on the BN site and there are as many that want long ball back to the Reebok.

For me only one available Manager I would touch is Paul Jewell.

What we should be concerned about is who picks the team for Saturday if they don't get the man they want by the weekend Jimmy Phillips ??

I'd take anyone except Gary Speed right now. It's clear that just promoting people from lower down in the system that have no real managerial experience hasn't worked. We need someone new. Paul Jewell is probably a strong candidate.

Suspect it will be Jewell.  Sunbed anyone?  Definitely not the right time now, after the Derby game would have been best, or no later than the day after the Chelsea game.  Wonder who will pick the team this weekend?  Names out of a hat perhaps.

I just told the missus that I was the new manager as I would get a free flight over.

We need someone to come in who will sort out the defence and just as important get morale levels back up, so that the team plays for one another and starts to achieve results.

Who that's going to be I don't know, but there don't appear to be too many outstanding candidates out of wotk at the moment.

Boothroyd was long ball last season because Watford couldn't compete by trying to outplay teams.

I have seen Watford this season they played some good football.

He is a top manager.

Steve Bruce must be in with a shout, with the turmoil at Birmingham at moment. But who wants a dirty munich.

Think odds on will be Paul Jewell, outside bet Gary Speed!

Some WUM has got other sites going with a "Souness stayed at DeVere Whites and seen at Reebok" tale.  ;)

Boots on Middlebrook then reported a large increase in razorblade sales.

I reckon that's spot on, and I think he'd probably get that contract. I rate him and I'd be happy to see some sort of agreement like that.

Agree with that.  I wasnt a fan of Allardyces football (at its worst) and Bothroyd would be a definite step backward imo.

I cant see Jewell committing himself to a 3 year contract given the stress he said he was under at Latics.  Perhaps he might sign a contract to the end of the season?

Phil Brown or Sammy McIlroy for me please.  No Peter Reid though.

The best thing about this list is that Souness isn't on it.

I'd like to see Hoddle - thought he was under-rated for England - not that i hold out much hope.

I'd be happy with Jewell, he'll inherit a top 10 squad and he knows his way around.

Although I have not seen his name mentioned on the Site.  But recently was reading an article in one of the papers, saying that Vialli wanted to come back to Premiership Management.  :whoknows:

He is someone I wouldn't mind at the Reebok, and believe that he would do a good job, keeping our foreign contingent happy.

Don't know what others think.

Also have heard rumours that Dowie would be interested in the job.

hoddle a bit 'odd' for me.

I think Jewell is the clear selection from that lot. As you say, he knows the score.

If souness or ried that is my match attending days over. simple!

Hoddle badly failed at Wolves in the championship recently though. I would be happy with Jewell. Worth a bet do you think? I can't see any others on that list being likely candidates.
