Hi everybody. I was told of this forum by a guy called Derek in the bar of the hotel we were both staying in in Lisbon after the match last Thursday.

I first started going on the Embankment at Burnden Park in the 60's. In that period I was mixing my time following Wanderers and Swinton Rugby League (I know, but we all have our problems!) Concentrating on The Whites, I moved to the Lever End in the 70's and, when they put in those stupid seats, to the Burnden Terrace. The 90's saw the missus and I as season ticket holders in the Burnden Stand which of course translated to the East stand upper at The Reebok. After 2 seasons we moved down to the East Stand lower for the better atmosphere.

Two and a bit years ago we took early retirement and forsook the dubious delights of the British climate and moved to the beautiful city of Seville. Consequently we now rarely get toThe Reebok with our last 2 games having been those in Madrid and Lisbon. We follow everything Bolton via television and t'internet.

Over here we are in our second season as season ticket holders at Sevilla FC.

COME ON YOU WHITES !!!

Assuming that not many with my name was stopping in a hotel in Lisbon, and drinking in a bar after the game.  :slurp:  Especially if the Hotel was the Amazonia.  If so, hoping that you had a good trip back.

So would like to welcome you to the Forum, and hope that you enjoy it, and that we have some good debating.

As per most Forums, we have our own clowns, but will let you find them.....It won't take long.....Lol.

Next job is to ask Admin for payment for travelling around Europe on a recruitment drive.....   Okay, maybe not.....Lol.

bdifb .. you have found me already! Thanks for the recommendation.

We stayed in Lisbon until the Saturday when we drove down to visit some friends who live on The Algarve. After a night out with them in Lagos and a kip over, we drove home on the Sunday afternoon. A very pleasant trip despite the result. (How many times have I said that over the years?)

Cheers trotamundos,   You could have found a shorter User Name.....Lol.

Although after the event, I should have waited until the week-end, rather than flying back Friday Evening.

Sounds as though you had a good trip though, and as you said, apart from the performance and result of the Thursday evening.  With half a decent team in Lisbon, we could now have been in the next round.

Would have been nice to meet up again at The Reebok.

Thanks for the welcome everybody. I doubt that my comments will be particularly pertinent or stimulating .. they will probably be the usual b*llocks.

Derek, "trotamundos" is Spanish for "Wanderer." Sorry for it being too long and me being a smart ar$e. He he!
