Looks like the IPL's a grand success, and its here to stay.

Any guesses on who will win the first edition.

My money is on the Super Kings

Haven't a scooby who which team is but I like the sound of the Knightriders, do they come out to field to the music from the 80's tv series?

Failing that I will cheer for whichever team has Shane Warne in it

The Knight Riders have made a blistering start so they are the logical choice.

But i think the Deccan Chargers and Delhi Daredevils could also be dangerous.

Warne plays for the Rajasthan Royals, they won their first game yesterday. (Noone expected them to win any game) Knightriders are leading the table after winning both their games. BTW, is the IPL shown on TV in UK? If its not, then you've already missed something. There was a 158* by McCullum on the first day, and some scores exceeding 200, there's also been a blackout in a game, so its fun to watch.

Likewise, have no idea who any of the teams are, but with names like Superkings and Royals, can I assume that they are sponsored by Cigarette Company's.....:whoknows:  Thought that had been stopped nowadays.....Lol.

You are completely off the mark. The Chennai Superkings are owned by a cement company and sponsored by a mobile phone service provider, while the Royals are owned by the London-based businessman Manoj Badale and an insurance company are the main sponsors.

But, the one man who's put the most money into the league has been Vijay Mallya, who owns Kingfisher Airlines, Kingfisher Beer, and the Force India F1 team

My prediction seems to be spot on!! The Chennai SuperKings have won all the games they have played.

The Mumbai Indians, the costliest team in the IPL are the only team not to have won a single match. Harbhajan Singh, who was the captain of the Indians has been handed out a 11 match ban after slapping Sreesanth.

I nearly got it right. It was a last ball victory for the Rajasthan Royals.

If you ever want to jinx a sports team, just let me know. For a tenner, I will tip a team to win....which usually guarantees they will actually lose.

That's a special talent. Could you please tip all 19 teams except Bolton to win the league next season.
