so.... Jussi or Ali?

Get in Jussi. Living Bolton Legend!

Well played Hull too in that. I think they've got enough in them to stay up.

Jussi - forget Man of the Match... Man of the Year. Unbelievable saves to win this one. And where did Wiley get 4 minutes from?

Great effort by most, we defended well, still annoys me with the lack of attacking football and lets face it that goal was more fortune than a good strike.

Smolarek was a massive upside, he looked very sharp and has a great touch and happy to run at the defenders.

Well its 4:08 am and I have some work to do tomorrow so i might nod of too bed.

Elmander looks nowhere naer his price tag so far, I'd consider dropping him for Ebi. Riga in the first half would have ripped Hull a new Aris.

Megson got it about right. Fair play to him.

I love it when a plan comes together 118.

Nowt wrong with Al Habsi. I wouldn't have any worries at all if Jussi was injured or suspended and Ali came in.

great win

to say Jussi was incredible today isnt an overstatement - a living legend for our club

you can tell Hull arent in a totally false position - they are a decent team, so to go there and win is bloody good going

Smolarek looked impressive - seems to have far more pace than Elmander

im still not getting carried away - the effort was truly brilliant again just like the City game, but we defended far too deep in the last 20 mins and but for Jussi we could have lost this on another day

and anyone who says we only win with Nolan in the team i say...

Not been back from the match long, a really good three points, I would have taken a point today. Hull are a decent team and were moving the ball around well, it was just our defending was superb from everyone in the team.

I can't believe they didn't score, they had so many chances and it's about time we got a good result against the odds!

What a Result! With a great big man of the match to Mr.Jussi Jaskelinen with some award winning saves. It's good to see him not sulking.

WE played much better passing football but we still need to attack the goals more and get bodies forward.
Yes we got the win and yes I'm freaking stoked about it, but the goal was more arse than class.

At least there were opportunities today. Gardner showed up and ran hard... almost gifting us a goal as he beat the goalie to the ball. Again, no one in front. I thought we paid for strikers this year... I guess not. Matty Taylor almost had two and Smolarek's run at the end was nothing less than gorgeous. On the less positive side, the team still does not play well together and that is a managerial problem. Phil Brown wisely used fresh legs for the last 18-25 minutes and for a few minutes it looked like an arcade shooting gallery. I wish Megson would learn that the benchwarmers can actually play in the game if he points to them. Again... something to be learned. At least we can taste the top half of the table (albeit a brief taste I am afraid) and we have Liverpool to look forward to. Having seen them play today I am hoping the "good" Bolton team appears next week... at least we can make a game of it and possibly salvage a point.

I cant remember the last time we wont 2 in a row! Hardly a world-beating performance but to go in there and win it deserves credit. Jussi, of course, was world class. I love how fired up he gets at times too, after the double save off King's shot Cahill tried to pat him on the back and Jussi just shoved him away and screamed, I was in stitches. Jussi single-handedly saved the win for us and the players all showed it at the end. This is probally the proudest win of the season for me simply because it seemed to unite the players even more after last week's win.

A couple other things - Taylor & Gardner can play in the same side, no problem. Nolan wasnt missed all that much. Muamba played well but cant pass. Elmander looked pretty poor. He doest read what Davies tries to give him.. not sure who thats down to but its not working.

It's best just to ignore his posts Normid

We were a lot better yesterday than we have been in recent games, but one thing we need to do is SHOOT! There were too many times when we were trying to walk it into the net. We saw what happened when Taylor hit that tame shot, it went in, and there were better times to shoot than then!

This is a great result. I havnt seen any of the match, didnt even see MotD - does anyone know where there are highlights online? Anyway, from reading through this thread and from various reports, well played Jussi. He showed he is still a world class keeper. And we're in the top half :D:D Oh yessssssss

A fantastic performance across the whole team. McCann takes some stick, but he was simply awesome and Muamba ran his heart out.  My only concern was the lack of understanding between our centre backs that allowed them to queue up to shoot three abreast in the centre with no challenge on at least 2 occasions.

A great result and the free coach scheme meant a great atmosphere.  We were the 12th man!

A great performance from us apart from the last 15 minutes i would say that jussi for that performance he gave was very very close to a 10 out of 10 he was absolutly awesome and our fans were fantastic we really got behind the team and we helped them to get the win i hope next week we can get right behind the players like we did at hull and make it a great atmosphere at the reebok against liverpool.
