Hate all these people walking around, or coming into the Pub at Lunchtimes, with one of these Name/Security Tags hanging around their necks. Makes me think of evacuees, or when I used to go out on Sunday School Trips   when about 5 or 6 years old.
The Old Name Tag, still cannot stand them.

Well actually I think you should but only 'cause I think the tories are going to be worse and don't get me started on the Lib Dems.
But that's a long way from saying Labour are great.

i suppose we need to have the much higher murder rates, inflation , interest rates , burglary rates that we had with the tories.
oh and the much lower monies on the nhs , teaching etc .
the whole 'i'm alright jack' and 'there is no such thing as society' attitude , lets bring that back.

The problem is that with globalisation, the real decisions are totally outside politician's hands. If we look after people, too high standards etc. then we'll lose competitive advantage (and in a recession jobs will go and things will get harder); if we don't look after people then there's no protection so jobs will go.
The problem is we look at Britain, and how things have gone down the pan but don't look at other countries. Things are as bad over here, in Germany, France, everywhere. It's the world that's going down the pan as China takes over and undercuts everything. (And yes, we could stop Chinese importing ... it just takes you to vote for increasing consumer prices and high inflation).
So the difference between the parties is how they choose to tinker round the edges. Labour means a general committment to equality of opportunity. They also believe in a safety net, which unfortunately wastes more money by capturing those who choose it as well as those who really need it. Unfortunately they don't have good management skills which means inefficiency and bureaucracy take over.
The tories promise greater efficiency, lower taxes (higher spending power), their committment to equality is tenuous and their solution to the problem of people choosing benefits over work is to remove the safety net totally (even from those who genuinely need it). They also support posh people chasing small furry animals round the country and torturing them to death.
Neither party can solve the big problems. The only three issues of any relevance in the next election are 1) when (not if) the public sector shrinks; 2) whether there should be an unfair safety net or none at all; and 3) whether you support hunting.

dont vote for either
in my lifetime weve had 18 years of the Tories = SHIT
then 12 years of Labour = SHIT
spot the pattern?

Some of them do, but it's irrelevant these days because people vote with their wallet rather than the ballot box so Tesco and the banks run the country.

| I hate radio DJ's who are so stuck in the 70's, that they talk (or even worse, play silly pre-recorded sounds) at the beginning and in the middle of songs, presumably because they still think we are all sat at home with a cassette recorder, waiting for the talking to stop, so we can start taping the song from the radio!
