Surely would have been worth a shot?!

Said that we should go for him, at the beginning of the transfer window.  Obviously Mego must have missed my post, whilst he was searching for defenders.  (A biggeer priority in his opinion).

More proof if proof were needed that Phil Brown would be a better Bolton manager than Gary Megson. I've been on about Vennegoor all summer, surprised Megson wouldn't even give him a trial in pre-season or anything.

Dear me, I hope you are fishing with this one? A quick question before I go into why Phil Brown is a useless manager, what would you have said if Gary Megson\ Bolton would have sold Gary Cahill on Transfer deadline day? Thats what Hull effectivley did by selling Michael Turner to Sunderland and replacing him with Ibrahim Sonko, who incidentally makes Danny Shittu look like Bobby Moore!!!

Add to that they lost their player of the season (Sam Ricketts) due to not tying him down to a contract and you start to see a few large cracks at an already creaky Hull. He spent 3 million on Olofinjana from Stoke who is an appalling player. The rest of his signings are not even second or third rate. They are poor, poor, poor all the way through.

We might not be that good ourselves but I would bet anybody, anything that we will finish well above Hull who I believe are definately going down this season.

We could have even gone in for Harewood on loan, he'd be a better call than VoH or Benjani, he'd be good back up.

But, I can only hope that the Bolton board has lost confidence in Megson and they wouldn't supply him with any more funds for players, and instead are saving up for a new Manager in January. If we lose to Pompey he has to go.

Yeh hopefully the board finally realises that he has to go for this club to move forward again and we will lose v portsmouth.

Harewood?

Where's that 'shaking head' emoticon when you need it.

I don't actually believe that, just frustrated. I don't want either to be the manager of this club.

Totally agree with everything you said. ((?tion))

"We'll go with what we've got!

This new style of football that I've introduced at BWFC is what I term losing ugly football,it contrasts with LSL's losing pretty football and BSA's winning ugly football.

We get the players to defend crosses corners and set pieces for hours each day and then hump the ball long in order that our speedy forward thinking players can win a free kick or corner or somtimes even a throw-in from which we have really excellent prospects of scoring as it is such a big surprise to our opponents, and that's why we are lowest spenders in League Prem.

That is sort of plan A;plan B is take my record signing off(last home goal August 2008)and put another mid fielder on who I really rate and he scores because I'm a tactical genius and we qualify for champions league and I rescue Gordon Brown from politcal disaster in close season and am offered big job as obama's chief of staff which I have to decline because I am managing Brazil in World Cup 2010 "

Shrewd signing for a championship club, good player at that level for my money.

We should throw McCann and Paul Robinson in for good measure, we owe Ipswich if I remember rightly (EEEVIL)

I can't believe people have had digs at Klasnic and Yong when we've got utter chuff like Paul Robinson wearing the shirt.

Doesn't deserve to be in white.

I'd still take Samuel , on one leg even if he'd got 1 out of 10 in the side that BEAT Portsmouth!

Not that I want him back, of course. As for Megson, any excuse to get his general peg leg back in the team.

Or

Bolton centre-back Danny Shittu is set to move to Sheffield United on loan, with a view to a permanent switch. (Daily Mirror)

He must have photos of Megson with barn-yard animals to use as some kind of blackmail. Either that or Megsons got a fetish for signing mentally-challenged looking players with IQs lower than their shirt number. He'd still look shyte in the Blue Square if you ask me.

A successful conclusion for this deal... hope he is as good as they are saying.

Bolton Wanderers have agreed a deal worth up to £1 million with Wolves to sign highly-rated Republic of Ireland youth team skipper Mark Connolly.

The teenage defender joined Bolton after walking out of Wolves - and the clubs sorted out a fee rather than go to a tribunal, with Gary Megson delighted by the coup.

Connolly signed for Megson's team before the transfer deadline and is already being tipped for a first-team start in the coming weeks. He has shot through the ranks for both club and country and Bolton reckon they have a steal.

The mirror has wrote this - Bolton boss Gary Megson has agreed a deal with Wolves worth up to £1m for defender Mark Davies, who joined the Trotters in January. The two clubs opted to negotiate the fee rather than using a transfer tribunal.

I'm confused:whoknows:

Oh, just what we're most short of, is he a right back?

And it looks like another of Chris Evans' poached Wolves youngsters.

Apparently a central defender.  Maybe, just maybe, he is a better prospect than Big Dan Shittu, and better cover.  And given that the more time Gary Cahill spends with "FC England Big Club Recruitment PLC" the more likely he is to leave, maybe some decent cover could be forward planning.  Just a thought.  No reason for people to give the management at BWFC any credit.

Well I'm happy as the next man if he turns out to be a defensive equivalent of Mark Davies, we certainly seem to be building a young team, which is good. How old is he?

And I'm usually the first to give credit to our management, I think they manage a hard job reasonably well. Now all they need to do is find a good young striker from somewhere.

After seeing David Nugent decimate Sunderland this morning, I was wondering why we didn't try to get him on loan.

Wanderers are watching Real Betis fullback Fernando Vega.

Seville sources say the Trotters have already made contact with his minders about Vega's availability ahead of the January market.

The 25 year-old comes off contract at Segunda Liga Betis in June

I read this story and its rubbish.

And if they did come in he will go for 8 million after garty holds out for as long as possible to get us the best possible deal for the club and the player.

in other words the worst possible deal.
