Last night on Match of the Day the BBC surpassed itself. They managed to mention Bolton only once - in the context of playing Wigan.

Prior to this mention Lineker and Hansen had both joked about "filling in time" with some jokey article about players falling over and Goal of the Month.

Now I'll admit the game was 0-0 but it was quite an exciting 0-0. In the second half both teams were going for a win. They could in some short after match analysis (with reference to Bolton) talked about:

1. Jussi's superb saves.

2. Taylor's disallowed goal. Every other team has the line drawn on to show offside or not?

3. Why were the fans taking their shoes off? - Requires research, beyond MotD.

4. Well done to he-who-shall-not-be-named for keeping Bolton up.

But no, we went straight to the table and goodnight.

Of course this follows on from Lawrenson calling us Blackburn (twice) - the equivalent of calling Everton / Liverpool or Spurs / Arsenal.

On the radio. They skipped going to the JJB as it was a boring 0-0. No it wasn't.

On the rare occasions a Bolton fans phone in to 606 they are given short shrift and sent packing.

An article with Gabriel Marcotti on 5Live "Is Kevin Davies the least talented player in the Premiership" was about the only Bolton on the BBC radio. He seems to think football should be played by ballet dancers and a non contact sport.

Look at the BBC sport page for Bolton. The only articles are match reports apart from one about Gartside plan and one about Mark Davies' injury in March. Very little news! Compare it with Sky's.

What is the problem? Allardyce isn't with us anymore and hasn't been for two seasons! We are going to finish above the beloved Middlesbrough and Shearer's Newcastle surely we deserve some credit - being Physical doesn't count as it is not intended as credit but a put down.

Here endeth my Sunday rant. Now we will sing hymn number 22 "Praise be to Jussi"

i couldn't care less, it's good to know that just by being in the premiership we're annoying people.  if they make it known that they don't like us then we're doing something right.

long may it continue.

BBC is worse than the others for a southern left-wing fashionista agenda.  Bolton aren't that.

What gets me (just a little) is BBC North-West news, football coverage.
Have I missed something ? Have Bolton Wanderers been re-located to another BBC region ?

I caught the end of the news on 'Real Radio' (was Century until recently) on Saturday evening, and they gave a quick run down of every PL score except Wigan and Bolton.

As for MOTD, I used to be a fan of Lineker, but over the last two years, he's turned into a smug, big-headed w*nker. An example........I watched MOTD on Sunday morning, and he said something like, "Wigan fans have asked me why they are always on last. Mid-table and nothing to play for is one reason and it would take a really good score to change that. Guess what.......you're on last again!"

Tosser!!!!

I also noted that one player (was it a Wet Spam player?) was booked after going down in the penalty area. The commentator (don't know who) said, "He's been booked for diving"." Then the replay was shown and he said, "The ref was right." Now do you think the word 'diving' would have been used if it was an England player who went down?

To be fair, Match of the Day did show a fair lot of the match considering it was on last, but i prefer to watch on Mondays on Virgin Media site.

This one really annoys me. It basically revolves around Lampard and "Bambi" Gerrard (and a few other England internationals) who do an awful lot of diving. The commentators never say it was a dive. Foreign players dive and players who the commentators / pundits don't like. All the rest "gain an advantage" or "felt a touch and went down".

SKD was clobbered by someone at Wigan by the touchline. He just got up and ran away ready for the free kick. Fantastic - that's the way it should be. No diving, rolling around, gesturing for the player to be booked etc.

Plans are under way as I type for MOTD to show a 19 team Premiership next season.  Should the sainted Shearer's team go down BWFC will be officially blamed.  Worst this weekend was the elderly Stuart Hall on 5 Live.  He just laughed maniacally about nothing in his preview and still thinks Cohen made his debut last weekend.  Time to retire Stuart.

It really isn't worth worrying about the media any more.  It sticks in their craw that BWFC have survived in the Premiership so long.  And long may their craws have that fact stuck in. :D

Stuart Hall does not report on football he just does the same after dinner speech routine every week. It is pathethic. He knows a few long words and not much else. To paraphrase what someone said about somebody more famous: "Stuart Hall is not involved in the football business he is involved in the Stuart Hall business."

right, my housemate's friend is Northampton's manager's son. God bless him, he was playing in a random pub in Bristol the night Northampton were relegated. Stuart Gray (ex Wanderer) and Northampton manager watched his son play guitar all night long, and by god, he was proud.

Fair play to a guy who that night watched his team relegated to League Two, it seamed as though nothing else mattered in his self than his child playing the guitar. Strange situation to find yourself in, I mean, I talk to the guy about his experiences of living next door to Shearer at Sunderland and now his dad's at a relegated Nothamton and an almost relegated Newcastle.

PS. I get rather jealous when talking about a random player such as Peter Crouch and I get a response of "spoke to him last week" from my friend.........

Never watched that in full but I'm thinking of boycotting everything BBC related. What time does it start?

Last night's highlights seemed to just show Sunderland attacking with a couple of Bolton attacks fizzling out into not much and one save by the Sunderland keeper at the end. Bias or what!

Then again looking at the stats at the end, Sunderland had more possession, each side only managed 1 shot on target but Sunderland had around 3 time more goal attempts in total. So maybe it was just a fair reflection of the game after all.

It was a fair reflection. Key stone cops describes our attacking. The only thing Sunderland did wrong yesterday was not put the ball in the net. We had the good shot at the end
