we had a chance before ponting was out, a small chance after and no chance after clarke fell.  1 silly decision and 1 freak run-out cost the series.  shame.

well done to england though, can't take anything away from them, they won the series fair and square.

if we can survive the next 20 or so overs, i can hope that the weather forecasters are understating the showers that are predicted for tomorrow and pray that they turn out to be showers of biblical proportions.

Hopefully England remember there are other team out there aswell. It's no good beating Australia and then going on to lose series to Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India (twice), Australia (away), South Africa and West Indies as has happened since 2005.

The away series against South Africa in the winter should give an idea of whether this series was a one off.

How bad must Ponting feel? That's now 2 out of 2 series as captain that he's lost in England, which after all their success, doesn't reflect well on his captaincy.

He'll just have to live with it aswell because i can't see him coming back in 4 years time for the next series.

Brilliant performance from England, I must admit before the series I couldn't see us winning but we played fantastically in this final test.

The cricketers have done something to hopefully lift England as a nation again, footballers take note!!!
