I wont mind seeing him play in Davis' place against Portsmouth. Davis thus far has done very little of note since taking McCann's place (except the sending off).

Also, Klasnic will not start, no way in hell. It will be Davies with Taylor and somebody else on the other wing playing out of position (not Lee or Riga either).

I'd say it was considering he was injured, hadn't played the last 2 friendlies we had and hadn't trained half of that week and if that doesn't normally stop somebody starting a game he was played out of position.  I have nothing against McCann really but we should have started with somebody else on the day.

Klasnic is not ready defensively best to keep him on the bench at least until the 88th minute when were 2-0 down.

Let cahill have a crack up front first.

Portsmouth v Bolton

Not nil-nil but null-null, because of what it rhymes with.
Both teams have struggled so far and with a long hard season ahead, they won't want to give anything away.

Something that really worries me about Portsmouth is the sight of their new owner sitting with the fans, with his name on the back of his shirt - sound familiar?

The quality of players they signed doesn't convince me they can stay up - you can't replace the ones they've sold with lesser players and not expect to be down among the dead men.

Verdict: 0-0

He shouldn't even need that... I'm sure Makakula got straight into the team when he came last season

I could be wrong, though...

Megson admits victory at Fratton Park would not only be a welcome boost but would help keep the cynics quiet.

Huge game
"It is a huge game from both clubs' point of view," he said.

"Obviously, if there is a winner one club is going to be left with no points and the other club will go up four or five places and suddenly life looks much better.

"But we have to make sure we get a result sooner rather than later because then you have to start coping with things on the periphery that start to invade the club and make life more difficult."

reminds me slightly of the game at white hart lane last season

only in that spurs were a total mess then and hadnt won all season i think

then we turn up, play shit, and get beaten, despite the fact spurs couldnt beat an egg at the time

im sure this wont happen tomorrow though....

What are these things on the periphery that he's talking about.

Its not the fans is it?

No.. surely not.

one thing Megson cant possibly complain about is the fans

theyve backed him to the hilt

from day one

he knows no matter what happens tomorrow, he has our full support

When he says "invading" does he mean invading the stadium by going to the games?

because that is something you can't accuse bolton fans of.

I don't think I'll stay up to see that we are not getting shown and to lose in a boring horrible fashion. I think I'll sleep instead.

At last Elmander has been dropped. Another coincidental face saving injury...perfectly timed.

Hope that waste of space Robinson is not brought back because of JLloyd Samuels travels.

I see us losing this one.

28 years since we last lost the opening 4 games.

But even if we do lose the first 4 its not megsons fault its the outside influences that start to invade the club when you lose every week.

I heard today that Mugson is going to get fired if we lose today. May be a price worth paying.

He won't get fired, If we lose 5 or 6 nil there might be a "meeting of the minds"

but he will certainly live to see the next home game.

5 defeats in a row and he should be sacked and banned from football for life.

I'm off back to Westhoughton this afternoon for a couple of days and I'm not planning on switching the radio on in the car so I'm going to miss all form of contact of this match, maybe that will be a good thing, I look forward to this post becoming 10+ pages of total bitching when I return this evening!

Not here, 5 games live and ours (surprisingly) isn't one of them.

Night people, I 'll read this board tomorrow.
