That is itslef amazing don't you think? If Spuds and Arsenal are only in the top 8?

Not really; other teams have spent big big big big money and moved past them.
City Liverpool have bought places in the top 4.
Chelsea have improved big time with Matta and Lukakau.

Chelsea have not really got into gear yet. They haven't really impressed in their games so far.

| What joy to see 'Arry struggling at the bottom of the table with a -7 goal difference. It just shows that even an improved Spuds team are way behind the top teams.

They certainly should be. But we can laugh at them for now. I love seeing Redknap brought down a peg or two.

Ay up. Trouble at' mill?
From the BBC:
Ellis Short, the Texas billionaire bankrolling Sunderland, is demanding improvement as the pressure grows on boss Steve Bruce and chairman Niall Quinn. Short is seeking better than last season's 10th-placed Premier League finish from under-fire Bruce, who spent £25m on 10 new players in the summer.

| I dont think the premier league has ever had so much quality. Teams like us could be in for some good hidings this season. After today, conceding 3 against city and liverpool doesnt seem so bad.

I think everyone in the league should be terrified of that United attack. Cleverly, Nani, Young, Hernandez, Valencia and Rooney are phenomenal options.
Early doors yet like I suppose. Chelsea started like a house on fire last season and looked dreadful for a good two months. I can't see United ending up like that though, because even when they play badly, they still win.

| Yeh United won the league last season because of their knack of winning despite not playing well! The scary thing is now is that they have added alot of quality to this formula!! While United and City are both winning like they are its hard to think they will ever slip up but im sure once the derby's start coming along and the top 4 encounters, things will start to change! Meanwhile the rest of the premier league teams can sit and admire!!

For all the money Liverpool have spent, I think Spurs are still favourites to finish above them this season.
Especially as we've just had our biggest win against them since a 7-2 hammering back in April 1963...

| Slightly "easier" games though where they have been able to get some confidence going into the next game. It does help

| Yeh it will be interesting to see how newcastle get on when they start facing the bigger teams!! But still, its the teams around you who you need to be beating and they have done that! the pressure is now off them when it comes to the big games which will be good for them!

| Think Newcastle will be just fine this season some very good signings brought in there to replace Carrol Nolan Barton and Enrique without spending to much as well.

Any team with the riches of Spurs should be in the top 5 every season.
only an idiot would think they won't be.

Walked straight into that one didn't I?
Perhaps Bolton will improve if I start taking the piss out of them?

I don't think it's anything like certain that Harry will get the England gig.
But if he does, Ancelotti would be a good enough replacement, I feel.
