Just wanted to let you know that Bolton Banter will be upgraded (see link below) to UltraBB. These guys are our hosts and as well as giving us a few more features, it might be more stable than what we have now. We've had a couple of outages recently and I believe UltraBB should be better.

The upgrade will take place at 8pm EST, so that's 1am UK time. The forum will be down for around 30 minutes or so.

You can check the features out here - http://www.ultrabb.net/

Can you upgrade our defense at the same time?

I was always going to do it just as soon as I got a 'round tuit'. Just been given one now. :D

It appears that our forum is a converted PHP, so that gave them some problems with the upgrade. So it will probably still happen, but there will be a delay.

The actual answer from our host. Doesn't mean much to me. I'm an IT manager, but I don't know this kind of stuff. :whoknows:

There has been an unexpected problem, it seems your board was a converted phpBB. We do have a database converter for that but have not used it in a year and I will have to look for it. Sorry for the delay in your upgrade.Worse case is I will have to rewrite it but I need it.

They had to try and find the converter or rewrite it. They closed my ticket. So I'll raise it again with them.

No. Our board needs converting before the upgrade and our hosts 'lost' the converter and needed to rewrite it. I'll raise another ticket with them (they closed the last one) to see if they have done it yet.

Bit like Bolton then. They've lost their converter. The one who puts the ball in the net.

Just to let you all know that our host is testing the new converter with a copy of our database. Hopefully, he'll come back soon with some good news. I'll keep you posted on how it goes.

Yes, I think our host must be loooking the other way when I give him a shout. That and selective hearing. I'll get onto him again this week.

I complained to our host that we'd heard nothing from him. Turns out he hadn't come back to me because he's naving problems converting our board-type. He's still trying to figure it out, so I'll update if there's any info from him.
