I'm not contradicting myself, but a better manager can get more from poor players. The same way Ferguson is in all likelihood going to win the league with a worse team than city, a better manager could keep us up despite our terrible team. Similarly, a good manager could have got wolves out of the drop. But if we did stay up by doing that, in my opinion, that would be a short term answer to a long term problem. I'm fed up of doing that. We've done it for 4 years.
Sadly we've got poor players with a distinctly average manager. You seem to think our team has the potential to do betterwithout playing horrible football, fair enough, I don't.
Either way, the time to sack coyle has been and gone. All we can do now is hope we stay up. If we do I think next season could be very different. Let's not forget that CYL was injured in July/August, with very little time to replace him. Holden was supposed to be back in the team in October and he won't play this season. Mears, whether any good our not, snapped his leg and has played one game. Whichever way you look at it, Coyle has had some unforseeable and horrendous luck concerning our best players.
I think coyle needs someone amongst his staff who is defensively tactically astute to become a good manager. I like what we do going forwards, but we're a joke at the back. And that has to change if coyle is ever going to have us back fighting for top ten.Last edited on Sat Apr 14th, 2012 06:14 am by Woody
