My Dad has just renewed his season ticket for 189 pounds.

Blimey, could almost get a game and a pie for under a tenner...
Who cares how good the footy is at that price.

I'm thinking about the North Stand at around £280 ish.....to keep the cost down.

When we consider season tickets its really funny how our supporters look at it.
Liverpool, Man Utd £750 a season ticket.
Stoke a similar sized club to ourselves, £450 + for a season ticket. It seems strange how it's considered too expensive to buy a season ticket for Bolton. Yet supporters of other clubs think nothing of paying £450 plus. Stoke have similar unemployment problems to Bolton (arguably worse) and the average income doesn't differ that much from Bolton either.
Are Bolton supporters being spoilt?

We always have had a fairly small core support. 12,000 or so. That decade in the Premier League might have upped it to around 15,000. When things are rosey people won't mind paying extra, if we charged close to £400 when we were hitting the top eight we'd still have 20,000 STs sold.
Stoke are currently in that position where they will start to drop off in terms of attendances because they're hitting their threshold of success and people start to think that their money is better off spent elsewhere. They're not really dissimilar to us, 12-15000 in the Championship, doubled in the Prem.
As for United, they had season tickets on general sale last season after the season had started. Unheard of five years ago. It's all relative to the size of the club and the success it gets. People are voting with their feet when it comes to the price, it's just more noticeable at the small clubs who are struggling because they're isn't thousands more waiting in line. If we spend two or three years in the Championship and then get promoted, you can put your house on the Reebok being full every week in the Premier League.Last edited on Fri Jun 1st, 2012 01:06 pm by Woody
