bit harsh...gives us a 10 day break and chance for any newbs to sign up and get used to the game before us experienced players give them a thrashing :D
....and the chance for everyone to play some pre-season friendlies.

was v surprised to start with a win - shame it counts for nothing!

Seems though that it was helped by you playing offside trap and me playing through balls.

On the player squad screen, what does those little arrows mean in the 'FT' column???

Excuses, excuses.......you'll be telling him 'it's a game of two halves' next!!

You should have all had an email telling you the new season is about to start (Saturday I think). That means that if you had any further friendlies due on or after that date, they will automatically be cancelled.

Have a good season everyone......but not as good as me.

I have noticed that instead of a single div 1, we have two???

I've not changed any settings, so it must have been an automatic reaction to the number of teams we have.

If anyone is interested I've created a Champions League league, hehe if you get me just for people, who like me enjoy playing the game, and want to join another league then the league id is 68224 or click the link XpertEleven

Lets see if you have what it takes to be a true champion.

I'd concentrate on trying to get your defence sorted before starting up a new league! 4 - 0, 4 - 0, 4 - 0, 4 - 0!

Wouldn't mind joining a Champions League league, but you have to be a VIP member to join - or at least, it says that my quota is full and that I can't join

Trouble with that, Mark, is that it's an absolute no-no under the rules - they kick you out for it!

only if they catch you!

To be honest, being in one league is enough for me. Already waste too much time on it (not that it's loads but it's plenty)

Yeah, that's 4-0, 4-1 and 5-0 so far, and I still haven't been best manager in the Xpert11!?!?!  But yeah, 5-0 was pretty amazing, 15 form too!!!

Well, here we are at the half way point in the season already - just two and a half weeks to go and all our players age by a year.  I know that the short season is not Billy's fault but it does cause problems for clubs.  Dubai Wanderers are favourites to win division 1 this season and are likely to be playing in the Super League next season but they will go up there having been unable to build up enough funds to strengthen the team by buying class players to replace those that are getting on a bit; doing a Normid is not likely to be repeated by any teams in the current system, it is more likely that teams such as mine, Lyons of Vienna, Tesco Turnups, Not Poodle Nomads, Underdogs etc, who are looking for promotion will end up being yo-yo teams.

Assuming that the league is to be in the same format next season can we look at the possibility of going down to 1 match per week with a cup competition thrown in - at least that way teams will have a chance of earning 12 million throughout a season rather than the current 6 million.  Given that it costs approximately 4 hundred thousand per game to run the team (training, match reports, win bonuses) this gives a maximum income of 1.2 million against 0.8 million outgoings leaving 4 hundred thousand per week (or a grand total of 2 million over the entire season) to buy players.

If the season lasted 10 weeks and we had a knock out cup competition which reduced the number of teams playing in it by half each week, most teams would only be shelling out the 400000 per week for most of the season leaving them with 6 to 8 million to spend on transfers (assuming that most managers get the full 1.2 million income per week).

As I said, this is not a criticism of Billy, the new format came as as much of a surprise to him as it did to the rest of us, but I do think it is time to look at changing the format.

Well I've not thought about it that much but it makes sense to me by the sounds of it. I'm too busy being named xpert11 manager of the week again ;)

What can I say Mark, your modesty is amazing - how are the Turnips doing anyway - got to the top yet?
