Have just come across this and thought if was worth posting
A "rogue agent" has threatened to force Bolton pair Tal Ben Haim and Idan Tal to stay in Israel if they travel there to play England. (Daily Express).
Surely this can't be done, it looks like a definite case of blackmail to me. Will have to try and find out a bit more if I can get onto the Daily Express Site.

Will pop up to the shop in a minute and have a read if they have an Express I can have a look at (not buying it though, bought "The Sun" this morning from them).

Good he gave me the Paper for free :- So here is what is says :-
David Abu has threatened to serve injunctions agains TBH and Idan Tal to keep them in Israel if they leave Bolton to paly against England in the vital European Championship qualifier later this month.
The Rogue Agents shock threat is sure to disrupt Israels build up to the most vital game in their Group - and one which is central to the survival of England coach Steve McClaren.
In one of the most extraordinary developments. Abu plans to escalate his war of attrition against the Bolton players as he pursues his claims for payments for his role he says in taking the players to the Reebok.
He said "I have already sued Ben Haim and he has 30 days to answer my court actions. But if he comes over to Israel to play against England, I am ready to serve him with an injunction to prevent him leaving the country until he answers my legal actions".
I am going to do the same with Idan Tal. Haim was earning £500 a month, he was a nobody, nobody knew him until I took him to Bolton.
Now he is earning a fortune and he should be paying me a percentage of his earnings.
Abu says he is ready to turn against Sam Allardyce and Bolton and present his "evidence" to the football authorities. Bolton insist they do not deal with unlicensed agents.
Abu first came to the Daily Express demanding £75,000 for his documents and paperwork.
We refused to pay him. :Violin:
(Excuse any spelling mistakes, as I was trying to type it fast).
Shark come to mind here.

With people like him around, I would set up extra Security at the Reebok.

It's funny how the figure £75,000 keeps coming up. That's the amount that he says he is owed and that's how much he thinks the story is worth. Although it does seem to be popping up in the papers there doesn't seem to be much momentum behind it.
I wonder what law he thinks he can use to keep two individuals from leaving Israel because some other individual is supposed to owe him money? I know Israel can appear to have some strange laws but I doubt they have this one.

thing is, it's all very well the express trying to show him in a bad light by "we refused to pay him"
well yeah,, but your football columnist still prints/printed his allegations as evidence that sam/craig were doing the dirty.
flipping gf buys that rag,, and then she complains when i get REALLY FLIPPING ANGRY reading it

This for me is everything that is wrong with the game
If someone *did* help bring TBH to the UK and earn him a fortune I don't really have a problem with a sort of 'finders fee' but the above just stinks

Not sure about Israel but in general I can imagine he has the power to seek an injunction against the Tals leaving the country until the case is heard; but as in most instances a case can be heard either in absentia or the court can simply require attendance. An injunction would guarantee if the player was a flight risk (i.e. serious risk of non-attendance, but in any event non-attendance would be contempt, which would simply mean arrest next time they return to Israel, something I can't imagine either Tal wanting to risk over a civil case like this given their international careers. Therefore I can't see so why would a court grant the injnction

I must admit that I hadn't read the Express quotes when I wrote this I was basing it on what was in the Mail at the weekend where he claimed that Ca owed him money.
I am not sure that an Isreali judge would be willing to prevent two of his countries players from playing in a game by threatening to stop them from leaving if they do turn up.

Real worry. Peter Crouch may have is nose job (could he have a head job as well so may be actually be able to head a ball) and could miss England's double header.
REALLY GUTTED!!!!!
What are we going to do without him????

TBH and Idan Tal, have just been selected for the Israeli Squad to face England.
Will soon find out if this David Abu ("The Money Grabbing one that is") serves injunctions against the pair or not. Apart from the Express I have not seen any other article even remotely close to the mentioning of anyone serving injunctions against them.

| I would prefer England to win eventhough I think McLaren is pretty average at best. The way TBH played today Rooney should score 5.

I concur.
Then again. When I think about it, it's not his fault that the FA went for the 'safe' option in carrot top. It's the old duffers at the FA who are to blame. They wouldn't know modern and forward thinking if it came up and threw their G&T's in their collective faces.
I love my country and it's football team. But have to admit that it's the first time that I have ever wanted us to lose, just so that we can get rid of Sven mkII. These are sad tmes indeed!

| I see the press have helped him find another forward for the squad. My Preston supporting friends rate Nugent but don't think he is ready for The Premiership yet so how the hell can he be ready for England.
