Lasith Malinga as player of the week was a great choice.

That was an amazing spell yesterday, to take four in four balls (and to be a few millimeteres away from five in five) is absolutely unblieveable.

Shame he hasn't got that much recognition for the feat, if it had been Brett Lee for example, certain people in the press would have been masturbating over it:roll:.

WoW RWB... bit GRAHICAL there mate

Mark - This might help

Super 8's

Ah ok, so if England got through it's most likely be to face Australia (ie 1st Vs 4th)

Does anyone know if the 4 from 4 clip is on youtube? I suppose I could just search for it myself... ;)

Just read this on the BBC Sports page under the Cricket section England v Ireland, which made me laugh.

1415 BST: As I made my way to work this morning, I got the feeling that the mucking about was over and the serious business was about to start. Then I saw a woman at London Bridge station flogging papers with teabags on her eyes and I realised the Cricket World Cup doesn't really matter that much

Ben Dirs not only has a great name but also makes for good OBO reading.

As my project at work has been binned I am going to play a bit of stick cricket to while away the time

England 12 - 1   - Joyce out for 1 - a third of the runs in the first 3 overs have come from Extras - Lets hope Ireland keep the Extras rate up.  No offence Lulu.

It's not chucking because his arm doesn't bend at the elbow at the point if delivery.  His action is just more round-arm than over-arm, which makes his deliveries more skiddy than bowlers with orthodox actions.

I find bender unfunny most of the time.  But i burst out laughing at this one :
"The England skipper looks as nervous as Nathan Bracken walking through a red light district. Maiden over".

P.S., anyone unfamilliar with Mr Bracken - he looks a like a really ugly woman:laugh:

Well after that I would think that it's time to let a few more of them get p1ssed and ride pedalos at 4am.

Good job the big fella was there because every other bowler looked clueless and was getting clobbered by the Irish.

Yeah freddie bowled well. Thought it was a good idea to use two slow bowlers in the middle to kill the game. Good to see Vaughan take wickts too!

Well it wasn't a brilliant game and really we should have finished them off much sooner but it was a potential banana skin so I'm just pleasd we've won, especially as they had already beaten Pakistan

To be fair, the Irish have been talking it up all tournament - and then backed that talk against Pakistan.  So I think - maybe this time round - there has been something right in the Irish team so they may have been a harder challenge than we'd normally think.
